THEME: The poem examines the difficulties and upheavals society faces, particularly in light of political unrest, highlighting the possibility of change and optimism via compassion and solidarity.  It criticizes the polarizing behavior of political figures and urges cooperation in order to create a more promising future.

SUBJECT MATTER: Using Trump and Biden as representations of dysfunctional leadership, the topic centers on the metaphor of a storm to symbolize political and societal upheaval.  The "Yellow Rose" is a representation of resiliency and optimism that exhorts people to band together for a brighter future.

LANGUAGE: Phrases like "eye of the storm," "winds of war," and "dance in the downpour" are examples of the evocative and metaphorical language used to evoke strong images.  By juxtaposing the turmoil of political conflict with the desire for love and harmony, the word choice expresses both struggle and optimism.

LITERARY DEVICES: Metaphor - The storm symbolizes chaos and turmoil in society.
Imagery - Vivid descriptions like "the rains of pain may pour" create emotional resonance.
Alliteration - Phrases such as "peer pair" and "pride and power" enhance the musicality of the poem.
Symbolism - The "Yellow Rose" symbolizes hope and resilience.
Personification - Leadership is described as "lost in the darkness of their sight," implying a lack of vision.

SOUND AND RHYTHM: The poem has a rhythmic flow since it typically uses iambic meter and a regular syllabic pattern.  The majority of lines have ten or more syllables, which helps to maintain a consistent cadence.  The poem's urgency and continuity are increased through the use of enjambment, which permits ideas to flow from one line to the next.

STRUCTURE: Stanzas - The poem consists of several stanzas, each exploring different facets of the theme.
Line Breaks -  The line breaks serve to emphasize key ideas and create a pause for reflection.
Rhyme Patterns - The poem employs a consistent AABB rhyme scheme, which gives it a musical quality and reinforces the message.
Punctuation and Pauses - The use of commas and periods guides the reader's pacing, creating natural pauses that enhance understanding and emotional impact.

NOTE: It is a lyrical critique of American politics that emphasizes the hardships that the people endure as a result of polarizing leadership.

Although no precise date is stated, the poem, which was probably composed in the current polarized political environment, captures current tensions and difficulties.

Despite the difficulties presented by the current government, the poem aims to encourage readers to perceive their own power in influencing the future and to find hope and unity in the midst of chaos.  It promotes compassion and group effort as a solution to social unrest.
