Government of Rivers Denies Inviting Suspended Governor for Investigation

A widely circulated rumor that retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Rivers State's sole administrator, had called suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy for an investigation has been refuted by the Rivers State Government.  Our correspondent was informed by a state government official that the statement was fraudulent, claiming that no such direction had been issued.

The social media statement inaccurately stated that Governor Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, were scheduled to meet with the state administrator to discuss appointments made during the previous two years.
