Women Dare Ibas, Protest for Return of Fubara in Rivers

By John Ollor Obe

Some women protested Governor Siminalayi Fubara's suspension today in Port Harcourt, despite the Rivers State Sole Administrator's caution.

Hector Igbikiowubo, the Senior Special Adviser to the State Government on Media, cautioned that the governor's supporters should be more restrained in their protests, yet the peaceful demonstration nevertheless happened.

Carrying signs calling for the governor's reinstatement and chanting songs of unity, the demonstrators marched from a major route to the Rivers State Government House.  They insisted that Governor Fubara had done nothing wrong and urged President Bola Tinubu to revoke the suspension and restore all democratic institutions in the state.
