Rivers State Government Shocked by False Claims Over Automobiles Legally Retrieved From Suspended Deputy Governor's Property.

The intentional misrepresentation of the legal recovery of two Toyota Hilux cars and one Hiace bus from the property of suspended Deputy Governor Professor Ngozi Odu has shocked the Rivers State Government.

Hector Igbikiowubo, the State Government's Senior Special Adviser, said in a statement that the government was shocked that its standard administrative procedure, which was intended to secure government property, had been perverted by individuals it characterized as political opportunists looking to incite needless conflict.  Following the proclamation of a state of emergency, the state authorities questioned the vehicles' legal function on the suspended Deputy Governor's property.

The administration is devoted to wise management of public resources and will not be sidetracked by what it called unfounded charges, the statement said, adding that the recovery of assets cannot be interpreted as administrative overreach.
