Nchia Council of Chiefs Reaffirms King Okpabi Authentic Oneh-eh Nchia X, Says Appollos Chu’s Claim to The Title Is Unlawful

  By John Ollor Obe The Nchia Council of Chiefs has reaffirmed the position of his Royal Highness, King Godwin Bebe Okpabi as the authentic Oneh-eh Nchia X of Nchia district in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State. This is contained in a statement issued by the council in reaction to what it termed "an online publication" where Appollos Chu was presented as Oneh-eh Nchia while meeting with the Rivers State Commissioner of Police. The statement dated February 24 th 2025 reads: “The attention of His Royal Highness, King Godwin Bebe Okpabi, Oneh-eh Nchia X and Paramount Ruler of Ogale, along with the Nchia Council of Chiefs and the law-abiding people of Nchia district in Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State, has been drawn to a recent online publication depicting the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, in a meeting with Mr Appollos Chu, who has since falsely presented himself as the One-eh Nchia. “By this notice, the Commissioner of Police and the general ...

Monarch Expresses Concern as Ogale Grapples with Fresh Oil Spill

  By Nwafor Oji Awala   The Paramount Ruler of Ogale and Oneh-eh Nchia X of Eleme in Rivers State, His Royal Highness, Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi has expressed concern over the oil spillage that occurred in Ogale last week. The monarch expressed concern that the pollution from oil spills continued to make life unbearable for the people of Ogale.   “The Ogale people continue to suffer under perpetual pollution from Shell.   By Nwafor Awala 1 st February, 2025 will forever go down in memory as the day an icon and music lover, late Chief Cyrus Kanwi was buried. The town of Aleto in Eleme Local Government Area was overwhelmed with grief and tributes as the remains of the socialite was laid to rest amidst tears and mournful wailing. A large crowd of mourners that included family members, colleagues, loved ones and friends gathered at his country home at Okerewa Aleto, Eleme for the funeral service, and paying of last respects to a man whose love for entertainment touched lives in his locality and beyond. Cyrus Kanwi, who passed away in the last quarter of 2024 at the age of 55, was honored with a heartfelt service attended by notable figures such as Rt. By Nwafor Oji Awala The District Head of Nchia Eleme and Paramount Ruler of Ogale, His Royal Highness, Emere (King) Godwin Bebe Okpabi, Oneh-eh Nchia X, has urged Eleme students to be cultural ambassadors of the land, shun every form of social vices and embrace hard work.   King Okpabi said this when he received the executives of the National Association of Eleme Students, NAES, during the group’s familiarization visit to his Obarijima Palace on 31 January.   Emere Okpabi added that Eleme students should strive to remain cultured, uphold their language, and maintain social discipline.   “Eleme students and youths should see themselves as one, without any discord.
